Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our cabins can host up to 45 guests overnight for family reunions and corporate events. Weddings and short-term special events can have up to 100 guests on the property, but these require prior approval and coordination with us.

  • 45 people max are permitted to stay overnight on the property between 2 large cabins, 3 electrical-only RV hook ups, and tent camping in designated areas.

    The Lodge can sleep 20+ people and includes:

    2 king beds, 3 queen beds, 1 full bed, bunk bed room with 4 twins, day bed with 2 twins forming 1 king size bed, and a loft with 2 twin beds. Two rooms have wide window seats that can be used as twin beds.

    The Ranch house can sleep 12 people and includes:

    1 king bed, 3 queen beds, 1 full bed, and 2 twin beds.

  • Freedom Ranch can host up to 100 guests for the duration of the event. Outside of the event itself, a maximum of 45 people can be on the property due to restroom access and event liability.

  • Check-in begins at 1:00 PM on your arrival day, and check-out is also 1:00 PM on your departure day. This gives you plenty of time to set up, celebrate, and pack up without feeling rushed. If this doesn’t align with your vision, please let us know so we can help coordinate a schedule that works for you and your event.

  • Not full-time. Our venue is DIY-style, which means you have the freedom to create your event exactly as you envision it. While staff aren’t present throughout, we’re just a call away and provide detailed instructions so everything runs smoothly. Many couples love the independence this allows.

  • Yes! You’re free to choose your own caterers, florists, planners, and bartenders. This flexibility helps keep your event personal and within your budget.

  • The property has 3 electrical-only RV hook ups available for use at an additional cost per night per hookup.

    Tent camping is allowed in designated areas. Please let us know if you are planning to have tent camping so we can help coordinate this.

  • Tables and chairs for up to 100 people are provided at no additional cost. We do have 2 arches that are available to use, also at no extra cost.

    All other rentals (tents, decorative items, etc.) will need to be outsourced. Please let us know if large rentals (tents) plan to be used so we can coordinate the designated areas with the vendor.

  • You’re welcome to decorate to fit your style. Please avoid nails, staples, glitter, or anything that could damage the property. We love seeing each couple’s creativity transform the space! All décor should be removed by checkout.

  • Yes, alcohol is welcome. We ask that it be served by a licensed, insured bartender and that all local laws are followed so everyone can celebrate safely.

  • Yes. While Freedom Ranch is very private, to respect neighbors and county guidelines, outdoor amplified music must end by 10pm. Indoor gatherings or non-amplified outdoor music may continue afterward at a considerate volume.

  • For those staying in the cabins, there is plenty of space directly out front and surrounding each cabin.

    For all other guests we have designated grassy parking area at the property entrance. This area is marked with a “PARKING” sign and can accommodate a several dozen vehicles.

  • Uber and Lyft are not available in Garden Valley. However, there are several options for transportation services operating out of Boise, ID that can help shuttle guests to and from the venue.

  • The Lodge has two fridge/freezer combos and the Ranch House has one. There is no commercial kitchen or walk-in cooler, so larger groups should plan carefully and consider bringing coolers with ice for drinks and overflow items.

  • With river frontage, ponds, and forested land, you’ll share the property with nature. Expect some bugs, birds, and maybe even a few furry visitors. Elk often wander through, bald eagles are frequent overhead, and otters have been spotted in the ponds. While we keep the grounds tidy, nature is part of the charm — bug spray and comfy outdoor shoes are always good to bring.

  • Because the venue is DIY, guests are responsible for cleanup by checkout. If you’d like help with finding help to set up/tear down your event and don’t know where to start, please let us know! We are happy to point you in the right direction.

  • While staff aren’t onsite full-time, we’re family-run and pride ourselves on being responsive. If something comes up, just reach out — we’ll do our best to help.

  • Yes, we love our furry family members! Up to two dogs are allowed at The Ranch House with a pet deposit. Please let us know in advance so we can prepare.

  • Yes, both ponds are open for catch-and-release fishing. Bring your own gear and enjoy the peaceful setting.

  • Yes! The fire pit is a favorite gathering spot. We often provide wood, but if you plan for big fires or extended use, please confirm with us in advance so we can have wood available — extra supply may carry a small fee.

  • Bug spray, sunscreen, comfy shoes, and a jacket or blanket for evening fires. Lawn games and fishing gear are also great additions!

    Please note that our venue includes grassy lawns and gravel paths. For your guests comfort, we recommend wearing block heels, wedges, or flats.
